EXPANDED PERFORMING ARTS FESTIVAL 2022

The curatorial axis of the project: “Seed – Stem – Fruit”, made the consultancy process for creation focus on proposals for works that emphasized a rigorous investigative process from start to finish; that is to say, that they ensured conceptual and linguistic rigor, from its approach, through the very work of solving the pieces, to its delivery to the public.

For this reason, this version of Yvyrasacha project and the resulting sample in its Expanded Performing Arts Festival, focuses on the fruit of four women and three men creators open to the purposes of: CREATING investigatively IN DIALOGUE, empowering the works and people one another; and that of offering QUALITY in an effective and well thought out way, to the national and international cultural consumption market, proposing art and not just ‘entertainment’, works that we consider ‘necessary’ because they dialogue with society in a profound and non-complacent way.

These creations have been worked on since last year with advice from different artists within the Yvyrasacha project. This exhibition is the closing of the first stage of the creation platform headed by Andrea Riera, Diego Aramburo and Luis Daniel Iturralde.

What happens when you remember? What part of the human body suffers when one remembers? What if we add alcohol to our memories? Memory is that process where, in addition to remembering facts or events from the past, one recreates emotions, sensations and feelings that often-marked pain in the person who remembers. That is maximized more when it is an actor/actress who remembers. The year 1985, a boy saw a train going away, while he knew the pain. Twenty years ago, that same boy, now known as Jorge, decided to dedicate himself to theater and perhaps, since that day, he has not stopped remembering. Memory is that space where one reviews his past, to analyze his present and perhaps project a better future. For an actor, memory is a tool for acting, but it is also a way to review their mistakes, their successes and perhaps fall apart along the way.
